ditto with below, however I also try to play debates/talk shows/news clips on a subject before I write about it.
Also if I'm going to be talking with or interviewing someone new and fairly high up in management or semi-celebrity I may try to see if there's any of their stuff out there. You can learn alot about sense of humor, style, politics and be better prepared to not make social gaffs.
Worry is interest paid on a debt that may never come due.
